Our internship last summer vacation
became so productive because of so many things that I learned. Things that I
might never know if I just stay in the four corner of our classroom. But the
most important thing that I learned is to become more independent. For an
almost one in a half month, I lived independently in Naga City.
It was my first time to be away from home. At first I felt the so called ‘’
home sick’’ but through the help of my board mates and classmates I became used
to it.
For me, the most difficult thing
that I encountered living far from my family was when it is time to laundry my
clothes. Second hardest thing I experienced doing household chores when I was
in Naga City is cooking. Although cooking is fun, when you’re tired and you
literally want to sleep, I must get up and cook for myself because no one will
do it for me.
Living alone and far from my family
brought mixed emotions to me. The one and a half month stay in Naga City was an
unforgettable experience because I learned so many things. It made me became
more independent and responsible enough to face challenges that I may encounter
while I’m on my journey.
I came back in Albay full of experiences
and knowledge that I acquired during my internship which I may use when I’ll be
in the real world of my chosen profession. The internship served as a stepping
stone for me to experience the life when I go outside the school campus.
